Compatible iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks in India for iOS 18.1
While iOS 18.1 is available for all iPhone models starting from the iPhone SE (2nd generation), only certain models can avail of the full set of Apple Intelligence features. Not only that, but some last year's models - iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max - also support these highly advanced AI features.

How to Download the iOS 18.1 Update in India
Open your iPhone. Check the control panel, and you will see an iOS 18.1 notification. If you don't, go to *Settings > General > Software Update, then select Download and Install iOS 18.1*.
Apple Intelligence features are available today only in English (United States). Indian users will therefore not see those features by default. For users who wish to avail of these, it would require changing Siri's language setting from English (India) to English (United States).
When Can Users Expect Support for Apple Intelligence in Indian Languages?
Apple has announced the expansion plans of Apple Intelligence to support more languages. Localised versions of English will be ready for Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK from December, while through an over-the-air or OTA update, in April, support will extend into languages like English (India), English (Singapore), Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese and many more.
This roll-out is gradual and intended to allow Apple Intelligence to reach out to the entire globe, thus making an iPhone work seamlessly by providing localized languages.
