The incident took place in Kurauti Pandey village under Vindhyachal Police Station in Mirzapur. On Monday evening, some local goons allegedly barged into the house of Apna Dal worker Ajay Patel.
The Allegations Against the Goons

Abused and assaulted family members when confronted.
Hit Ajay Patel on the head with a stick and brutally beat his wife.
Attempted to drag their minor daughter away forcibly.
Hearing the family’s cries for help, villagers rushed to the scene, forcing the attackers to flee. The injured were taken to the hospital, and the police were informed, but no action was taken, leaving the family distressed.
Anupriya Patel Visits the Victims
Upon learning about the incident, Union Minister Anupriya Patel visited the injured worker and his family at the divisional hospital in Mirzapur.
The family informed the minister that despite reporting the incident, the police had taken no action even after 24 hours.
Minister’s Warning to the Police
Angered by the police's inaction, Anupriya Patel issued a stern warning:
“This is about my party’s worker. Police should have acted immediately.”
“If action is not taken within two hours, I will escalate this matter to the Chief Minister.”
“We will not tolerate any misconduct against women and daughters.”

During her visit, Patel summoned ASP Nitesh Singh and SP City and reprimanded them for their delayed response. She said,
