 Bengaluru Incident Diwali video: The police stated that Shabarish, who had lost his job, was also offered the firecracker dare by friends when it was said that there could be a better future because of the autorickshaw promised.
 

It so happened that on the eve of Diwali at Bengaluru, there has been a tragic incidence involving the death of 32-year-old Shabarish. The video taken catches the view in total shock. Police report that the friends challenged Shabarish to sit on a box of firecrackers and lit up, promising him an autorickshaw in return for accepting the dare. As Shabarish was jobless, he thought that this was a good future opportunity and accepted the challenge. The group had been celebrating Diwali on October 31, reported to be drinking alcohol together.

Footage from the CCTV camera in the area captures the moments when Shabarish's friends place him on the box of firecrackers and then move away. Moments later, the firecrackers ignite, and the box explodes, and Shabarish falls to the ground writhing in agony. The video captures him writhing in pain while his friends stand by, shocked at what is happening. Although his friends took him to the hospital, Shabarish died on November 2.
