Bengaluru: Techie, 24, Found Dead At Hotel in Neeladri Nagar! Ends Life By Inhaling Helium Gas
Bengaluru: A 24-year-old software engineer working for a well-known IT company tragically died by suicide in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The individual, identified as Yagnik, was a resident of Sakleshpur in Hassan district.
The incident occurred at a hotel in Neeladri Nagar, within the Electronics City area. According to police reports, Yagnik had checked into the hotel on August 16 to take an MTech examination in Bengaluru. It was later discovered that he ended his life by inhaling helium gas, commonly used in balloons.
Authorities revealed that Yagnik had been working from home for several months. Upon his arrival in Bengaluru for the exam, he booked a room in his name. Preliminary investigations suggest that Yagnik had left the hotel with a bag, purchased a helium gas container from the Peenya locality, and brought it back to his room. He reportedly used the gas to take his own life.
The hotel staff discovered Yagnik's body inside his room when he did not check out by noon as scheduled. The police were immediately notified, and his body was transported to Saint John's Hospital for a postmortem examination.
DCP (South East) Saarah Fathima confirmed that Yagnik had inhaled the gas through a pipe. She added that the exact reason for the suicide is still under investigation. While a love angle is being considered as a possible motive, the police intend to confirm the details after interviewing Yagnik's family members, friends, and colleagues.
The Electronics City Police have initiated further investigations into the case.
