Karnataka BJP, Congress Leaders Unite for Inter-Caste Love Marriage

In an unusual political alliance, Karnataka's key BJP and Congress leaders have come together, transcending party and caste lines, to support the inter-caste love marriage of their children. BJP Yelahanka MLA S.R. Vishwanath and Congress Minister Byrathi Suresh, despite belonging to rival parties and different castes, have consented to their children’s union. 

The engagement ceremony for Vishwanath’s daughter Apoorva and Suresh’s son Sanjay, a love-cum-arranged marriage, took place at a private hotel in Bengaluru, with prominent leaders like D.K. Shivakumar and Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot in attendance. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also blessed the couple, marking a rare moment of personal unity in Karnataka's often divided political landscape.
