Muda Scam Accused Officer Dinesh Kumar GT Appointed as Registrar of Haveri University

Mysuru, August 30 – In a move that has sparked significant controversy, Dinesh Kumar GT, a former commissioner of the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (Muda) who is accused of involvement in a major land allotment scam, has been appointed as the Registrar of Haveri University. The alleged scam has been a subject of intense debate in Karnataka, with opposition parties accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of being involved.

The Muda scandal, which involves allegations of irregularities in the allocation of plots under a 50:50 ratio scheme, has led to widespread outrage. Dinesh Kumar GT, a Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer, was among those accused of playing a role in the illegal allotments during his tenure as Muda commissioner. Following these allegations, Minister Bhyrathi Suresh held a meeting in Mysuru, leading to Dinesh Kumar's transfer. However, he had not been assigned a new position until now.

In a recent government order, Dinesh Kumar GT has been appointed as the Registrar of Haveri University, a decision that has raised eyebrows given the ongoing investigation into the Muda scandal. This appointment is part of a broader reshuffle involving the transfer of nine KAS officers across the state.

Dr. Shankarappa Vanikyal – Appointed as General Manager (Administration), Raichur University, Raichur.
Geeta I Kaulagi – Appointed as Registrar (Administration), Bagalkot University, Bagalkot.
