Delhi Air Pollution Crosses AQI 400 on Sixth Day, Weather Update Revealed

Delhi's air quality remains in the severe category with AQI over 400 for the sixth day. Weather shows no major relief, with clear skies and moderate temperatures

Delhi residents continue to grapple with worsening air quality as pollution levels have crossed the Air Quality Index (AQI) of 400 for the sixth consecutive day. While the temperatures have become more comfortable with cooler mornings and evenings, the air pollution has reached hazardous levels, making it difficult for people to breathe.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the morning air pollution levels in Delhi are 10.5 times higher than the World Health Organization's recommended limit. Areas such as Mundka (AQI 382), Narela (AQI 309), IP Extension (AQI 316), and Mustafabad (AQI 293) are among the hardest hit, with AQI levels remaining in the severe category.

Severe Air Pollution in Key Areas

Several areas in Delhi, including Anand Vihar, Bawana, Dwarka, Jahangirpuri, and Rohini, are facing severe air pollution levels, posing serious health risks to the residents. The ongoing stubble burning in Haryana and Punjab is contributing to the rising pollution levels, while the Delhi government has implemented measures like GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan) to control the situation.

Weather Forecast

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi is expected to experience clear skies over the next few days. Temperatures will range between a maximum of 35°C and a minimum of 19°C. While there may be a slight drop in daytime temperatures, significant relief from the air pollution is not expected anytime soon.
