The gang, led by a 33-year-old criminal from Ghaziabad operating from jail, was active across Delhi NCR. Initial leads from Ghazipur raids revealed suspects planning robberies and possessing firearms.

The Delhi Police's Crime Branch has busted a major arms trafficking network in the nation's capital by arresting 18 suspects. They were appearing as laborers, small-time farmers, and all other forms of low-profile jobs while they supplied illegal firearms to criminals. The police recovered a huge arsenal of pistols, rifles, and ammunition with a stolen vehicle. Among the arrested were Arjun, 25, a cleaner working at a five-star hotel, and Ajay, 23, barber, found deeply involved in the trafficking activities.

Selling Arms Under the Disguise of Day-to-Day Workers

They were laborers, painters, salesmen, security guards, and farmers during the day and arms traffickers at night. In this case, one of the suspects was a college student who was motivated to commit the crime because of the opportunity for easy money. Others who were involved had already committed crimes, such as murder, extortion, and theft, for which they were already charged in court. Special Commissioner of Delhi Police Devesh Srivastava stated that the entire network was operating in the entire Delhi NCR and had also conducted arrests with recovery of 8 pistols prepared in house, 1 rifle, 33 cartridges, 4 automatic pistols and a stolen car.

Gang Leader Functioning from Jail

The the madam is 33 years old and notorious criminal from the Ghaziabad with 12 previous cases. It has also been alleged that he was coordinating the operations even from jail. The key arrests have been made by the team led by Additional CP Sanjay Bhatia and DCP (Crime) Bhisham Singh. Initial leads about two suspects, Arshad and Mohammad Suleman, were obtained after a raid in Ghazipur. It has been caught while planning to commit a robbery, and firearms, have been seized from him. Leads were further obtained on the basis of the firearms seized.
