Delhi schools bomb threat by Arvind Kejriwal termed extremely serious and worrying

It has been a disturbing morning when bomb threats reached at least 16 schools in Delhi. These messages were sent to them via email early this Friday morning. The various agencies including the Delhi Police carried out an investigation regarding these threats in order to check the presence of any possible bombs, which could create danger to the students and staff of the schools. No suspicious items were found, after which the bomb threats declared as hoax.

Delhi's former Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, expressed deep concern through social media regarding the bomb threats. He termed these threats "extremely serious and worrying," especially due to their potential to disrupt children's education. Through an X (formerly Twitter) post, Kejriwal emphasized how such incidents can affect children's mental well-being and education negatively. He raised a critical question relating to the ongoing threats asking, "If this will continue, how badly is it going to affect children? What will happen in their studies?"

The bomb threats, which came just a few days after a similar incident earlier this week, have caused widespread panic in the capital among parents and school authorities. Whereas Delhi Police claim no actual threat has been found, repetition in events brings more threats in the name of hoaxes. Kejriwal's statement shows that citizens of the city share the anxiety because hoax calls that disturb daily routine school functions and put most city parents in a state of panic thinking for the well-being of their children.

With repeated threats, school security measures and psychological effects on children have taken the center stage of debates. The authorities have announced that they will continue investigations into the source of these threats, while Delhi Police has appealed to the people and schools to remain alert so that no such occurrence takes place again. Such threats, even though a hoax, have already created unnecessary panic and disruption.
