Resumption of 'Delhi Chalo' March:

101 farmers will begin their peaceful march towards Delhi around noon today, announced Punjab farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher.

No Talks with Government:

The farmer leaders, including Pandher, claimed that they haven't received any communication from the Centre for talks and alleged that the government was not ready to talk to them.

Shambhu Border Barricades:

Haryana police have erected barricades at Shambhu border with nails on the roads to prevent vehicles from passing. The visuals show tight security measures.

Heavy Police Deployment:

The police have deployed large forces at Shambhu border, including restrictions on media coverage. Journalists have been asked to maintain a distance from the protest.

Farmers' Core Demands:

The main demands are MSP along with legal guarantee, farm debt waiver, old-age pension for farmers, and not raising electricity tariffs.

Justice to Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Victims:

Farmer organizations also demand justice to the victims of the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri in 2021, during which several farmers were killed while taking part in a protest.

Another major demand is that the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, which had been opposed because of its provisions on acquiring land for development projects.

Tear Gas Incident:

The farmers had called off their march on Friday after police used tear gas to stop them from moving ahead towards Delhi. At least 16 farmers were injured, one losing his hearing.

Farmer Leaders' Support:

BKU leader Rakesh Tikait also called for unity among farmers and said that division goes weak to the movement of the farmers.

Pressing Action:

Despite the hurdles, farmers have vowed to continue protest till their demands are met. They are demanding a reply from the government.
