According to police reports, Ravi had purchased the jammers from Lajpat Rai Market with an intention of selling them at a higher rate. The range of blocked jammers is 50 meters, which stops all types of cellular communication within this zone, including call and messaging. Moreover, Ravi did not have any legal documents or license related to the possession and use of these jammers.
The Cabinet Secretariat in India does not permit private people and organizations from acquiring and using mobile jammers. This is provided under the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act of 1933. The usage and possession of such apparatuses are prohibited without obtaining a license.

The Delhi Police are investigating further into the source of these jammers and tracing their probable buyers to stop this illegal business. The Telecommunication Department has been informed about the incident, and other markets in the national capital are being raided further.
