Good News for Liquor Enthusiasts: Premium Liquor Stores to Reopen in Delhi, All Major Brands Available 

Premium liquor stores are going to re-open in Delhi promising more substantial and organized experience for consumers. All major brands are available here. The Excise department expects revenue growth. Already 15 stores are opened. 
 
 

The Excise Department has cited this suggestion to be made at shopping malls located in the city, which will facilitate easier shopping for the people of Delhi. Official letters have been sent to the four state-owned corporations involved in selling liquor, to act upon this plan.

Premium Liquor Stores Planned in Delhi Malls as Sales Soar

Already, over 40 premium liquor stores were inaugurated in different malls in Delhi in 2021. But it has lately opened 15 such stores in shopping malls; these are not even close to the standard of quality entailed in this scheme. The four government corporations currently operate about 695 wine and beer shops in the city and would hope to see that increase to 710 by year-end. Additionally, 950 licenses of hotel, club, and restaurant have already been renewed that manifest tremendous growth in the liquor industry.

Liquor sales in Delhi reach an all-time high ahead of Diwali at more than 3.87 crores, earning ₹447.62 crore. It is an impressive rise of 1.18 crores bottles from last year. According to reports, of the bottles sold, 2.98 crores were IMFL, and beer sales were 89.48 lakh.

In other news, policemen apprehended a smuggler in the Wazirabad area while transporting illicit liquor in a car. The car driver Shakeel Mohammad was, allegedly, working with the owner of the vehicle for transporting liquor for him for ₹15,000 a month. The cops recovered 12 cartons of illicit liquor from that car, which is their latest victory against the untaxed liquor trade in town.
