Ghaziabad: Severe Electricity Cuts Plague Gagan Enclave, Daulatpura, Surya Enclave Areas
The situation of power cuts in Ghaziabad has worsened drastically. The scorching summer heat is compounded by daily power outages lasting 3-5 hours. Whether these cuts are official or due to faults in the lines, officials remain tight-lipped. Meanwhile, the public suffers, and no one is ready to take responsibility.
Officials Unresponsive During Rainfall, Phones Go Unanswered
The BJP government had promised consistent power supply, but even a slight rain exposes the reality. Power goes out at night, and the 112 emergency number provided by the government only rings without any response. Efforts to contact local JE and other officials after 11 PM are futile, as their phones remain unanswered – their homes do not face the same power issues, and their air conditioners run smoothly.
Gagan Enclave resident Chetan Garg, who is prominently raising the issue of electricity problems, reports that the public is severely affected by the electricity issues. He told us that the transformers keep sparking, they are very old and cannot handle the electrical load. Sometimes, the transformers make a lot of noise. Despite several complaints to the electricity department, there has been no response. He simply wants the government to solve the electricity problem in his society.
Residents of Gagan Enclave Troubled, Daulatpura's Complaints Ignored
Gagan Enclave, near Bhatia Morh, is considered a posh area. Residents here, due to their influence, often manage to get the attention of the electricity department. On the other hand, areas like Daulatpura and Surya Enclave are left unheard, with no resolution in sight.
Poor Quality Transformers
Sources indicate that poor-quality transformers are a major cause of these outages. The question now is, who installed these transformers, and how will they be replaced? Will the RWA presidents, councilors, MLAs, and MPs of the area take any action? The leaders who visit homes for votes during elections are nowhere to be seen. Most of them are comfortably using generators at home while the public's sleep is disrupted.
