Jhalawar Farmer Protest: Man Climbs Tree Over Bridge Construction Delay

Jhalawar Farmer Protest: Ramgopal Vyas, the District Minister of National Farmers Organization, climbed a tree in the Awar town of Jhalawar demanding that a construction work for a bridge was to resume which had stalled for years. He underlined that local residents had been facing issues because of unfinished infrastructure work.

5 Years of Bridge Construction Causes Hardship

For the last five years, building high-level bridges over rivers Ahu and Kyasra has not started. It caused problems to residents, which worsens in the rainy season because it becomes near impossible to commute. As repeated requests were made for action by the local authorities as well as their representatives nothing was done to alleviate the matter.

Farmer Takes Harsh Step

Ramgopal Vyas climbed a tree, frustrated that no one responded to his agitation. Such an unorthodox protest method gained him much attention from local authorities. The Tehsildar of Pachpahar and police from Pagaria were soon seen at the site. The Tehsildar promised that the work would commence very soon and only then did he agree to come down from the tree.

Roads in Poor Condition Add to Residents' Troubles

In addition to the incomplete bridge, the roads connecting the Awar hospital to the Ahu and Kyasra rivers are severely damaged. The poor condition of these roads creates clouds of dust throughout the day, causing inconvenience to residents and health risks for patients.

Local Authorities Assure Action

The Tehsildar assured them that construction of the high-level bridge will start soon, as an effort to cater to the needs of the locals. It has restored hope among residents who have lived with such issues for many years.
