Mumbai-Goa Highway Blockade: Public Outrage Over Delayed Widening Project

A significant public protest erupted on the Mumbai-Goa Highway as locals staged a road blockade demanding the immediate resumption of the highway's widening project. The demonstration led to a severe disruption of traffic, with hundreds of vehicles stranded on the highway, causing major inconvenience to travelers.

The protest is being led by the Jan Aakrosh Samiti, which has been on an indefinite hunger strike in Mangaon for the past six days. The protesters are expressing their frustration over the state government's alleged neglect of the issue. Despite previous assurances, the Chief Minister has so far refused to meet with the protestors, further fueling their anger.

 

The protesters have vowed to continue their agitation until their demands are met. They argue that the government's indifference has forced them to take such drastic measures, and they will not back down until the widening project is resumed and completed.
