Sambhal MP Ziaur Rahman Barq Faces New Trouble: FIR in Road Accident After Violence Case

Sambhal Ziaur Rahman Barq, Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament for Sambhal, finds himself in the news again and again for wrong reasons. After he was booked in an FIR for his alleged role in violence in Sambhal last month, now he finds himself in the spotlight this time for his involvement in a deadly road accident that happened a few months ago.

Reports said the incident occurred on June 24 in the Nakhasa area of Sambhal district, where a Scorpio vehicle reportedly hit a motorcycle, killing Gaurav, 28. The family of the victim has now lodged a complaint with the local police against Ziaur Rahman Barq, alleging that the vehicle was being driven by the accused himself at the time of the accident.

In their complaint, the family insists that Barq was in the driver's seat of the Scorpio, while his sister had also been present inside at the time. With this news developing, SSP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, posted in Sambhal, said: "An investigation has been started over the issue.".

If the investigation affirms these allegations, then Barq may face serious consequences because the death of Gaurav was caused directly by the accident, and this is at a time when Barq is already surrounded by another controversy over violence that erupted during protests against a survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal. The violence left four people dead, and while Barq has been accused of goading the rioting spree, Sohail Iqbal, son of SP MLA Iqbal Mehmood.

The complaint of a road accident has added to a growing list of legal cases against Barq. However, it is noteworthy here that earlier, multiple FIRs had been lodged with the police against Barq for his alleged role in Sambhal violence, thereby mirroring the increasing scrutiny over his actions over the last several months.

Family of deceased, Samar Pal, accused Samajwadi Party MP with severe criticism, taking sole responsibility for the accident. The family requested the authorities to file a case against him under proper investigation. SSP Bishnoi promised that it would definitely investigate the case and based on the investigation, strict legal actions would be initiated against him.

As this case progresses, the political future of Ziaur Rahman Barq would be threatened with increasing allegations against him regarding his involvement in the Sambhal violence and now an accident that has resulted in a death. His party, Samajwadi Party, would also face immense pressure as public opinion would start to turn against the MP.
