NSE and BSE are closed today for Guru Nanak Jayanti 2024, suspending equity, derivatives, and currency trading. Commodity trading resumes at 5 PM. Upcoming holidays: November 20 (Elections) and December 25 (Christmas). Markets remain mixed amid weak global trends.
The Indian stock markets, including BSE and NSE remain shut on November 15, 2024, on Guru Nanak Jayanti 2024. Thereby, trading activities on Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment, as well as SLB Segment, will stay suspended. Trading in Currency Derivatives Segment also will get suspended.
In the Commodity Derivatives segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segment trading will remain closed from 9:00 AM till 5:00 PM but will be operational for evening session at 5:00 PM. The partial holiday is available both for MCX and NCDEX.

Thursday, November 14: Indian stocks traded mixed on Thursday under the pretext of weak global market trends. Though indices Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex ended nearly flat, some segments witnessed significant activity:
Nifty 50: Ended marginally lower at 23,555.
BSE Sensex lower by six points to 77,684.
Nifty Bank Index up by 139 points at 50,227.
Small-cap Index up by 0.83%.
Mid-cap Index up by 0.41%.
Sectoral Performance:
The following sectoral stocks moved north
Realty, Auto, Telecom and Consumer Discretionary moved north.
Oil & Gas, FMCG sectors dented by rising cost and subdued consumer-spending.
Trading on NSE were lowest in six months and the AD ratio is crossed 1:1 and gives a balanced market breadth.

With partial closure in the commodity derivatives segment on Tuesday, one might expect trading to pick up during the evening session. That is a big trade for those who deal in commodities like gold and silver.
