CA Student Success Story: How Tea Seller's Daughter, Amita Prajapati, Became CA After 10 Years of Hard Work
Amita Prajapati, the daughter of a tea seller from Delhi, achieved her dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant after a decade of relentless effort and perseverance. In an emotional LinkedIn post, Amita shared a heartfelt video where she and her father are seen shedding tears of joy upon her successful completion of the CA exams.
Amita’s journey was anything but easy. She detailed the immense challenges she faced in her quest to achieve her dream. “It took 10 years. Every day, with dreams in my eyes, I questioned myself whether this was just a dream or if it would ever come true,” she wrote in her post.
Throughout her journey, Amita faced numerous doubts and criticisms. Many questioned her parents’ decision to invest in such an ambitious course for a student they deemed “below average.” Some even suggested that the family should save money to build a house instead, given their financial struggles. Living in a slum, Amita often encountered taunts and skepticism.
Overcoming Criticism and Self-Doubt
“People used to say, why are you putting her in such a big course? Your daughter will not be able to do it,” she shared. Despite these harsh words, Amita remained steadfast in her resolve. “They would say, how will you manage to educate her by selling tea? Save money and build a house. How long will you live on the streets with grown-up daughters?” she recounted in her post.
Acknowledging her humble beginnings, Amita wrote, “Yes, I live in a slum (few people know this), but now I am not ashamed.” She embraced her roots and credited her “crazy mind” for her achievements. “Some people would call us ‘slum-dwellers, crazy mind,’ and they were right. If my mind wasn’t crazy, I wouldn’t be here today,” she reflected.
The Emotional Culmination of a Decade-Long Dream
The culmination of her decade-long journey was marked by an intensely emotional moment with her father. “For the first time, I hugged my father and cried; that’s peace,” she wrote. Amita expressed profound gratitude for her parents’ unwavering belief in her and their sacrifices, which enabled her to reach this milestone.
“I waited a long time for this moment, envisioned this dream with open eyes, and today it has been captured in reality,” she said. Her message to everyone was clear and powerful, “I want to tell everyone that it’s never too late, and dreams do come true.”
An Inspiration to Many
Amita Prajapati’s inspiring story is a testament to patience, perseverance, and the power of dreams. Her achievement not only fulfills her long-cherished goal but also serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for others facing similar struggles.
