The Tribal Affairs Department of Madhya Pradesh organized a statewide online guidance session on "Mental Health During Exams" for 10th-grade students on Thursday. Thousands of students from various districts, including those enrolled in Eklavya Adarsh Residential Schools, CM Rise Schools, Girls' Education Complexes, and Adarsh Residential Schools, participated in the session.

The session was led by career counselor and psychologist Priya Sonpar, who engaged with students to provide guidance and counseling. During the interactive session, students expressed their concerns and queries about challenging subjects like Mathematics and Science, as well as difficulties in memorizing dates and facts.

Dr. Satendra Singh, Additional Commissioner of Tribal Affairs, emphasized that these mental health sessions aim to improve examination results for tribal students across the state. In addition to online sessions, similar programs are being conducted in departmental schools across various districts.

Key Tips for Managing Stress During Exams

Career counselor Priya Sonpar advised students to focus not only on studying but also on maintaining mental well-being. "It is essential to manage stress effectively while preparing for exams," Sonpar said. She recommended the following strategies:

  1. Take Short Breaks: Taking short breaks every one to two hours can help refresh the mind and improve concentration.
  2. Maintain a Balanced Diet and Sleep Schedule: Ensure a nutritious diet and adequate sleep to support overall well-being.
  3. Incorporate Exercise and Yoga: Regular physical activity and yoga can enhance mental focus and reduce stress.
  4. Communicate with Others: Spend time talking to teachers, family members, and friends to share concerns and seek advice.
  5. Enjoy Music or Quiet Time: Listening to favorite music or taking a quiet walk can help alleviate fatigue and pressure.

The session also included the presence of school principals and teachers, who supported the initiative and interacted with students.

By integrating these practices, students can foster a more balanced approach to their studies and manage stress effectively during exam preparations.
