Bigg Boss Star Ajaz Khan Secures Just 103 Votes in Maharashtra Election Despite 5.6M Followers

Bigg Boss fame Ajaz Khan, despite 5.6M Instagram followers, trails behind NOTA with only 103 votes in the Versova seat during Maharashtra elections.

Former Bigg Boss contestant and television actor Ajaz Khan faced a disappointing outcome in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Contesting from the Versova seat on an Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) ticket, Khan managed to secure only 103 votes, a stark contrast to his massive social media following of over 5.6 million on Instagram.

Ajaz Khan Trails NOTA and Other Candidates

According to the Election Commission, Versova’s voter turnout stood at 51.2%. In comparison to Ajaz Khan’s meager 103 votes, Shiv Sena UBT candidate Haroon Khan leads the constituency with a significant 46,619 votes. Meanwhile, NOTA (None of the Above), an option allowing voters to reject all candidates, garnered 747 votes—seven times more than Ajaz Khan’s tally.

Social media users were quick to point out the irony of a widely recognized celebrity trailing behind NOTA. One post on X (formerly Twitter) humorously remarked, “NOTA got more votes than Bigg Bossiya Ajaz Khan.”

The Versova constituency has traditionally been a stronghold for the Indian National Congress (INC). This year, a total of 16 candidates contested the seat, making it a competitive landscape for any newcomer. Ajaz Khan’s foray into politics, despite his popularity in entertainment, struggled to gain traction among voters.

Ajaz Khan’s Journey from TV to Politics

Born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Ajaz Khan is a household name in Indian television. He gained fame through shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum and Karam Apnaa Apnaa, along with notable roles in films like Rakta Charitra and Allah Ke Banday. His stint on Bigg Boss further cemented his place in the public eye.

However, translating his entertainment popularity into political success proved to be a challenge. Critics and observers speculated that Khan’s lack of a strong political base and experience may have contributed to his poor performance at the polls.

Social media platforms were abuzz with reactions to Khan’s electoral performance. Many users highlighted the stark gap between his Instagram followers and actual voter support, with some jokingly suggesting that even his own family members didn’t vote for him.

The disconnect between celebrity influence and grassroots political appeal was a recurring theme in discussions, with many suggesting that social media fame doesn’t necessarily translate to real-world impact in politics.

While the results were undoubtedly disheartening, Ajaz Khan’s political journey may still be in its early stages. His foray into politics highlights the challenges faced by public figures transitioning from entertainment to governance.

Whether he will continue his political career or return to his roots in acting remains to be seen. For now, his experience serves as a reminder that politics demands more than just popularity—it requires connection, trust, and a strong understanding of voter expectations.
