Now, years after exiting the show, he has shared the reasons behind his decision.

MUMBAI — Bhavya Gandhi, widely known for playing the beloved character of Tappu on the hit TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has finally opened up about his decision to leave the show after many years. Bhavya, who grew up on screen as Tappu, left a lasting impression on fans before his departure. Now, years after exiting the show, he has shared the reasons behind his decision.

Bhavya Gandhi’s Journey on TMKOC

Bhavya joined Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah at the age of 9 or 10 and played the role of Tappu through his teenage years. The show, which began in 2008, became a massive success, and Bhavya’s portrayal of the mischievous and lovable Tappu was a significant part of its charm. However, after spending several years in the role, Bhavya decided to step away from the show, much to the surprise of fans.

In a recent interview with Tele Talk, Bhavya revealed why he made the decision to leave. While grateful for the love and support he received from the audience, he felt it was time for a change. "I was told that whether I chose to stay or leave, the team would support me. At the time, I don't remember exactly what I was thinking, but I do remember being scared and having a question that kept troubling me," Bhavya shared.

The Decision to Leave TMKOC

Bhavya explained that although his contract required a 3-month notice period, he ended up serving 9 months before officially leaving the show. During that time, the show's producers tried to convince him to stay, and he was surrounded by people who encouraged him to reconsider. Ultimately, Bhavya decided it was time to say goodbye and pursue new opportunities. "After much inner conflict, I finally made the decision to leave the show and make a name for myself in a different way," Bhavya added.

Who Else Has Left TMKOC?

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which has been airing on SAB TV since 2008, has seen several cast members leave over the years. Notable exits include Disha Vakani, who played the iconic character of Dayaben and has yet to return. Other key characters like Dr. Hathi, Sodi, Anjali, Taarak Mehta, Sonu, Nattu Kaka, Bawri, Mrs. Sodi, and Goli have also left, with new actors taking over their roles. However, no one has been able to replace Disha Vakani as Dayaben, and her return remains eagerly awaited by fans.

Bhavya Gandhi’s decision to leave Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah marked a significant moment for the show’s fans, as Tappu had become a beloved character over the years. As Bhavya continues to carve his path in the entertainment industry, his departure serves as a reminder of the evolving nature of long-running TV shows and the journeys of the actors involved.
