BLACKPINK vs. Girls' Generation: Who Reigns Supreme as 21st Century’s Most Loved Girl Group?
In an exciting new survey conducted by Gallup Korea, BLACKPINK and Girls’ Generation (SNSD) have tied for the title of the most loved girl group of the 21st century. The results were revealed on September 6, 2024, showcasing the continued popularity of these iconic K-pop groups.
BLACKPINK and Girls' Generation Tie for First Place
According to Gallup Korea, BLACKPINK and Girls’ Generation both received 42% of the votes in the survey. Girls’ Generation was particularly favored by voters in their thirties (47%) and sixties (46%), while BLACKPINK dominated in the forties (47%) and fifties (48%) age groups. The survey was conducted between August 19 and 23, 2024, with 1,052 participants ranging from ages 19 to 69.
NewJeans Ranks Third
The rising K-pop sensation, NewJeans, secured third place with 25% of the votes. They received the majority of their support from voters aged 19 to 59, showing their growing influence in the K-pop industry.
Other K-pop Groups in the Top Rankings
Several other girl groups also made it to the top of the list. Wonder Girls came in fourth place with 21% of the votes, followed by TWICE in fifth place with 13%, and 2NE1 in sixth place with 10%. IVE ranked seventh with 7% of the votes.

The eighth position was a tie between aespa, KARA, and Red Velvet, each receiving 5% of the votes. MAMAMOO, Apink, and SISTAR tied for 11th place, while T-ara and (G)I-DLE shared 14th place.
