BTS V Breaks Silence: Shares Cryptic Post Amid Min Hee Jin Controversy
BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, recently posted a cryptic message on his Instagram Stories that has left fans intrigued. The post, which featured an illustration of a cat, included a Korean message that translates to, "You're overthinking it again. Things will be fine." Accompanying the image, V wrote, “I got it, Teacher Cat. I won’t break down.”
While the post seemed light-hearted, its timing coincided with an ongoing controversy involving BTS' label, HYBE, and Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE. Fans have speculated that V's message might subtly reference the drama surrounding him, though he did not directly address the issue in his post.
The HYBE vs Min Hee Jin Controversy
V found himself drawn into the controversy after Min Hee Jin made comments about him during a live broadcast. She mentioned that V had reached out to her during his military service, contacting her via calls and texts, including sending a birthday greeting early in the morning. Since military trainees in South Korea have limited access to their phones, her remarks raised questions about whether V had violated military regulations.
The accusations suggested that V may have received preferential treatment, which led to public scrutiny. Some even lodged a legal complaint against him, claiming he had broken military rules.
The situation quickly gained attention, but an investigation by the South Korean military cleared V of any wrongdoing. According to the military, trainees are allowed to use their phones during designated rest periods, such as weekends and public holidays, for up to an hour each day. The military confirmed that V had only used his phone during these allowed afternoon hours, and not in the morning, as claimed by Min Hee Jin. There was no evidence to suggest that V had violated any rules or received special treatment during his service.
Despite the military’s clarification, the controversy has continued to attract attention. Some fans have expressed doubts about the accuracy of Min Hee Jin’s statements, especially considering her prominent role in the K-pop industry. As the CEO of ADOR, she has played a significant part in the success of the up-and-coming group NewJeans, which is under her leadership. Meanwhile, HYBE has accused Min Hee Jin of trying to distance ADOR from its parent label, which adds to the tension between the two.
Min Hee Jin has also leveled plagiarism accusations against another HYBE subsidiary, Belift Lab, which further complicates the situation. These disputes within the company have added fuel to the ongoing drama.
V’s Upcoming Discharge from the Military
Amid the controversy, V continues his service in the military and is set to be discharged on June 10, 2025. BTS fans are eagerly awaiting his return, as the group is expected to make a highly anticipated comeback in the same year. The members' reunion will mark the return of the group to the global stage, and fans are hopeful that this challenging time will only make them stronger.
