Kajal Aggarwal: The Superstar Who Debuted with Aishwarya Rai and Starred with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and More
You may know her as one of the leading actresses in Indian cinema today, but Kajal Aggarwal’s journey to stardom began humbly as a background dancer next to Aishwarya Rai in the 2004 film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na. In the song Pyaar Mein Sau Uljhane Hai featuring Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi, Kajal caught everyone’s eye, although she wasn’t the center of attention at the time.
Fast forward to today, and Kajal Aggarwal is a household name. She has since starred in numerous blockbuster films across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu industries. Her breakthrough came in 2007 with the Telugu movie Lakshmi Kalyanam, but it was the 2009 film Magadheera, directed by SS Rajamouli and co-starring Ram Charan, that marked her first 100-crore success.
Rising to Stardom
Kajal Aggarwal’s Bollywood career took off when she starred alongside Ajay Devgn in Rohit Shetty’s Singham, which is now a fan-favorite cop universe film. She followed this up with the critically acclaimed Special 26, where she starred opposite Akshay Kumar. The film, based on the 1987 Opera House heist, further cemented her position in Bollywood.
A Flourishing Career in South Cinema
Apart from her Bollywood success, Kajal continues to dominate the South Indian film industry. She has starred in hit films like Thuppakki, Mersal, Govindudu Andarivadele, and Nene Raju Nene Mantri. Her recent film Bhagavanth Kesari, alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna, earned her Rs 4 crore, adding to her current net worth of Rs 83 crore.
