ADOR Takes Legal Action on Malicious Posts Targeting NewJeans During Contract Dispute
ADOR begins legal action against malicious posts targeting NewJeans amid contract dispute. Deepfakes, false rumors, and insults spark strong company response.
On April 9, 2025, ADOR released a statement saying they are taking stronger legal actions to protect NewJeans from growing online hate and false information. This is happening while the K-pop group NewJeans is also dealing with public attention and legal issues about their contract.
In a statement called “Update on Legal Action Regarding Artist Rights Infringement (4.9),” ADOR said that they have been watching and responding to harmful posts since the debut of NewJeans, but now things have gotten worse. So, the company has added more people to their legal team to deal with the situation.
NewJeans Faces Malicious Content and Deepfake Threats
ADOR shared that they are checking and collecting real-time evidence from many websites like X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Naver, Blind, and DC Inside. These sites have malicious posts such as false rumors, insults about how the members look, privacy violations, and deepfake videos.
ADOR clearly said they will use the law to take legal action against such criminal acts. Some complaints have already been sent to Yongsan Police Station, and more are on the way. They also said that one person involved in making fake videos about NewJeans has been caught and sent to the prosecutors.
No Compromises, Only Justice from ADOR
In the statement of ADOR there is no room for compromise or moving on. They will follow every legal avenue possible to ensure that the offenders receive proper punishment. This message about 'no settlement' was especially strong considering the emotional and mental toll that attacks of this type can take on K-pop idols, especially such as NewJeans, who are so young. ADOR has also asked to support the campaign initiatives by reporting harmful content through the HYBE artist protection page since much fan contributions have gone a long way in establishing their legal case.
Contract Dispute Between NewJeans and ADOR Continues
This announcement comes at a very delicate moment for NewJeans, as the group is embroiled in a contract conflict with ADOR. It has been reported that the contract was terminated last year because of ADOR's failure to fulfill its duties under it. However, a court issued an injunction allowing ADOR to still act as the management of the group and restricting the members from signing any endorsement deals on their own.
Today a court session is scheduled for 2 p.m. KST, where NewJeans will combat the injunction. This hearing may become one of the crucial points determining how the group goes on from there.
Activity Discontinued: Will The Group Hold?
The other thing that bedevils fans is the fact that the group has wiped out all content from its NJZ Instagram, which has apparently been renamed “mhdhh.” This new name looks to derive from the initials of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein — which could be taken as a sign that group activities are temporary.
NewJeans Fans Battle Together with ADOR against Online Hate
The NewJeans fandom, known as Bunnies, have also engaged in legal battles to stop posts that tarnish their members and support them as much as possible. This show of unity between the company and the fans even proves how much love and protection the girls have around them.
While the struggle is still going on, both ADOR and NewJeans fans are covering the reputation, rights, and mental health of the group. The bottom line remains clear — The NewJeans are never alone.
