The much-anticipated film Mr. Bachchan, starring Ravi Teja, hit theaters on Independence Day, August 15, 2024. However, the film fell short of expectations, underperforming at the box office amidst tough competition. As a result, both Ravi Teja and director Harish Shankar made the generous decision to return part of their remuneration to help the producers recover financial losses.

Mr. Bachchan Struggles at the Box Office

Mr. Bachchan, which is a Telugu remake of the Hindi film Raid (2018), faced strong competition from other releases, including Keerthy Suresh's Raghu Thatha, Demonte Colony 2, and Ram Pothineni's Double iSmart. Unfortunately, none of these films performed well in theaters. According to Sacnilk, Mr. Bachchan managed to collect only Rs 14 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.

Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar Step In to Help

According to Hindustan Times, Ravi Teja returned Rs 4 crore of his remuneration, while Harish Shankar gave back Rs 2 crore. Though no one asked them to return their earnings, both felt compelled to support the producers in a difficult financial situation.

Recently, Ravi Teja faced a health setback after injuring himself on the set of his upcoming film RT75. He underwent surgery for a muscle tear, but assured fans on his X handle that he is recovering well. "Successfully discharged after a smooth surgery and feeling fine," Ravi Teja shared, expressing gratitude for his fans’ support.
