Naruto Creator Teases New Manga Project Amid Boruto’s Upcoming Finale

Masashi Kishimoto hints at an exciting new manga project as Boruto approaches its finale. Discover the latest updates and what fans can expect from the creator of Naruto.

On August 23-24, 2024, Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, and Mikio Ikemoto, co-author of Boruto, attended a special event in France. The event, hosted by CGR Events, was called "Naruto and Boruto: Night at Konoha." It focused on streaming the best fight scenes from Naruto and revisited the 2015 movie Boruto: Naruto the Movie. The creators were interviewed by Naruto's French publisher, Kana, and engaged in several press conferences.

Kishimoto's Future Career Plans

During the interview, Kishimoto was asked about his future career plans. He responded, “It is a difficult question. I think I have a goal, but the most important thing is to spend time with my family.” He also added that interacting with fans motivates him to work on new projects. While he didn't confirm any upcoming manga, his words have sparked excitement among fans eagerly waiting for his next creation.

Ikemoto Discusses Naruto and Boruto

Mikio Ikemoto discussed the differences between Naruto and Boruto. He explained that Naruto was a man who had nothing and built everything from scratch, while Boruto starts with everything, loses it, and then tries to rebuild. Ikemoto also mentioned that The Matrix influenced Boruto, with Boruto being similar to Neo and Sarada resembling Trinity. Fans are curious to see how these elements will shape Boruto's storyline.

Kishimoto's Reflection on Sakura Haruno

In a candid moment, Kishimoto revealed that if he could revisit any character, it would be Sakura Haruno. He regretted not including her parents in the original story, though they appeared briefly in the theatrical version. He expressed a desire to expand on her character in the future if given a chance.

Kishimoto's Next Project

Kishimoto may explore projects outside of the Naruto universe. After his sci-fi series Samurai 8 was canceled, he wrote a one-shot called Mario. Fans are eagerly waiting for his next work, speculating it may delve into a mafia hitman story based on Mario, a character Kishimoto envisioned as early as 1998. Fans are thrilled to see what new creation Kishimoto brings next.
