No Ajay Devgn or Ranbir Kapoor in Gangaajal 3 and Raajneeti 2? Prakash Jha Opens Up

Prakash Jha confirms that Raajneeti 2 and Gangaajal 3 will not feature Ajay Devgn or Ranbir Kapoor. Read his thoughts on the new direction for the sequels.

Renowned filmmaker Prakash Jha has confirmed that he is working on the sequels to his hit films Raajneeti and Gangaajal. In a recent interview, Jha opened up about the future of both these iconic films. However, he also hinted that the star cast for these sequels will not include the previous leading actors, Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor.

Jha, known for his sharp storytelling and deep insights into politics and society, shared his thoughts on the upcoming sequels while talking to Mid Day. The director emphasized that the direction of both films would take new turns, with fresh stories and characters. Fans of these films are eagerly awaiting what Prakash Jha has in store, even as he confirmed that some familiar faces would not return.

A New Direction for Raajneeti 2 and Gangaajal 3

During the interview, Jha explained that Raajneeti 2 and Gangaajal 3 would have new storylines, different from the original films. He also revealed that the star cast for both films is yet to be finalized, suggesting that he might be looking for fresh faces or different talents. While Raajneeti and Gangaajal had powerful performances from actors like Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor, Jha hinted that the storylines would shift focus, which could mean new faces playing key roles.

Talking about the challenges in casting today, Jha said that it’s not as simple as it used to be to meet with actors directly. He mentioned how actors are now managed by multiple agencies, making it difficult for directors to directly communicate with them. “A decade ago, it was easier to meet actors, tell them the script, and persuade them to take decisions. But today, actors don’t even read scripts themselves—assistants and managers handle that,” Jha said. He further explained that reaching actors requires crossing several management layers, unlike earlier days when a director could directly approach the actor.

Prakash Jha also shared more details about Gangaajal 3, which he revealed is currently titled Dharmakshetra. The movie will focus on the dilemmas faced by the police force and society, exploring the challenges they encounter with each other. However, Jha made it clear that Gangaajal 3 will not follow directly from the events of the previous film. Instead, it will introduce a new character, a head constable, who will face his own battles, shedding light on new aspects of law enforcement and societal struggles.

When asked about the sequel to Raajneeti, Jha shared that certain characters from the first movie would be brought back. He specifically mentioned Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Samar Pratap, who, in the second part, would be shown abroad. Jha also hinted that Raajneeti 2 would be an extension of the first film, although the story structure is still in development.

Fans Eager for More

With both Raajneeti 2 and Gangaajal 3 in the works, fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapters of these iconic films. While Jha has not confirmed the return of previous cast members, his fresh approach and the new directions for both stories have sparked curiosity. As the projects continue to take shape, the anticipation surrounding these films will only grow. For now, movie lovers and fans of Prakash Jha’s storytelling are waiting for more updates and the final casting decisions.
