Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ Postponed to Avoid Clash with Rajinikanth’s Film ‘Vettaiyan’
South Indian cinema superstar Suriya has recently made headlines with his much-anticipated film Kanguva. Originally slated for release on October 10, the film’s makers have now decided to postpone the release. The reason? A clash with another major release, Vettaiyan, starring the legendary Rajinikanth.
Suriya himself confirmed the decision, stating that the move was made out of respect for Rajinikanth, fondly known as Thalaiva. During the audio launch of his brother Karthi’s film Meiyazhagan, Suriya explained that Kanguva will not compete with Rajinikanth’s film, ensuring that both movies get the attention they deserve.
"I want to make it clear that Kanguva will be postponed," Suriya announced at the event. While the new release date has not been disclosed yet, fans are eagerly awaiting the update.
According to a report by News 18 English, Suriya spoke passionately about the hard work that has gone into the making of Kanguva. "For more than two and a half years, over 1,000 people have worked day and night to bring a special film like Kanguva to Tamil cinema. The entire cast and crew, under Shiva’s direction, have given their all, no matter the circumstances. I am confident that our hard work will not go in vain. I am sure the audience will shower the film with love and respect," Suriya said.
The postponement of Kanguva is seen as a strategic and respectful move, allowing Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan to have its moment without competition. Suriya’s fans are supportive of the decision, recognizing the gesture as a mark of respect towards one of the industry’s most revered icons.
As anticipation builds for both films, the industry and audiences alike are now looking forward to the new release date for Kanguva, with hopes that it will be worth the wait.
