Arvind Kejriwal Attacked During Pad Yatra in Delhi: On November 30, 2024, an individual tried to throw a liquid at former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal while he was doing a Pad Yatra in the Greater Kailash area of Delhi. However, Kejriwal's security personnel caught the attacker, who could not cause any damage.

After the incident, the Aam Aadmi Party accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of masterminding the attack. The party claimed that BJP, which failed to maintain law and order in Delhi, was behind the attack on Kejriwal, relating it to his constant criticism of the government's law and order management in the city. AAP spokespersons made it clear that this event exposed the incompetence of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the central government in assuring safety for political leaders.

AAP's Response: Law and Order in a Shambles

Leaders of AAP expressed deep apprehensions over the deteriorating law and order situation of the national capital. They brought up repeated attacks on Kejriwal, saying that such an incident exposed the insecurity against opposition leaders. Saurabh Bharadwaj, Minister for Food & Civil Supplies, Delhi, slammed the Centre for failing to protect public personalities, especially Kejriwal. Bharadwaj said, "While BJP leaders conduct rallies in the entire country without any threat, Arvind Kejriwal has faced several attacks, including Nangloi and Chhatarpur. The law and order situation in Delhi is in shambles, and the Home Minister is doing nothing about it.

Attack Amidst Rising Political Tensions

These were released amid continued political strain in tensions between Aam Aadmi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party governments due to accusations that BJP indulges in using forceful repressions to quash dissidence. AAP's successive leaders have pointed at one thing time and again the failure of BJP administrations at important tasks like enforcing order and safety in Delhi which never happens as they used an onslaught against Kejriwal rather who highlighted all shortcomings at hands of this government.
