The attacker was quickly apprehended by the police, and Singh’s security has since been increased.

Central Minister Giriraj Singh was attacked in Begusarai, Bihar, during a public interaction in the Ballia area. As Singh was exiting a public meeting hall, a young man attempted to assault him. Fortunately, the minister was unharmed and is in good health. The attacker was quickly apprehended by the police, and Singh’s security has since been increased.

In a statement to the media, Giriraj Singh expressed his dismay at the incident, suggesting that political figures like Tejashwi Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav might support the attacker after seeing his identity. The minister continued his journey after the incident, undeterred by the attack.

Who Was the Attacker?

Giriraj Singh was addressing grievances at a public meeting when a man wearing a white cap approached the stage and began speaking offensively into the microphone. When BJP workers attempted to intervene, the man rushed towards Singh and tried to punch him. However, security personnel quickly restrained the individual, later identified as Mohammad Saifi, a local ward councilor.

Giriraj Singh’s Response

After the attack, Giriraj Singh stated that he is not afraid of such incidents. He accused the Waqf Board of land-grabbing activities across the country, including in Begusarai, and noted that while communal violence has never been initiated by Hindus, their religious processions, such as during Ram Navami, are often targeted. Singh also criticized political leaders Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Akhilesh Yadav, accusing them of being "vote merchants" who often come to the defense of such individuals.

This incident has raised concerns about the security of political figures and the rising tensions in the region as Bihar prepares for upcoming elections.
