Marathon Morning Made Easy! Delhi Metro to Start at 3:15 AM on Sunday – Beat the Traffic and Arrive Fresh!
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a temporary change in metro timings for Sunday, October 20, to accommodate participants and spectators of the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Usually, the metro service begins later on Sundays, but this time, trains will start running from 3:15 AM across all lines except the Airport Express and Grey lines. Between 3:15 AM and 4:00 AM, trains will operate at 15-minute intervals, and from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM, trains will run every 20 minutes before switching to their regular schedule.
This decision aims to prevent overcrowding at stations and ensure smooth travel for marathon participants and the general public. Volunteers will be stationed at metro stops to assist passengers, and participants will receive free QR code wristbands for easy access.
DMRC's early start will help ensure that the event runs smoothly, allowing everyone to reach the marathon without facing delays or congestion.
