Delhi-Patna Flights Costing More Than a Trip to Paris Just in Time for Chhath!

With trains completely booked and special services selling out faster than hotcakes, many are turning to flights. But hold onto your wallets, folks! If you’re planning to fly from Delhi to Patna, brace yourself for prices that have skyrocketed—some tickets are now costing a jaw-dropping five times their usual rate.

Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of emotions as the Chhath festival kicks off today, but not without some serious travel drama! This beloved celebration, especially in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, is all about family, faith, and, of course, food. But as eager festival-goers rush home, they’re facing a ticket crisis that would make even the most seasoned traveler weep.

In fact, a flight to Patna is costing as much as a ticket to Paris! Yes, you read that right: for the price of a quick two-hour jaunt to Patna, you could be jetting off to the City of Lights instead.

Today, if you’re eyeing a flight from Delhi to Patna, expect to shell out between ₹14,000 to ₹25,000. Compare that to the cool ₹4,100 you could spend on a ticket in 20 days, and it’s enough to make anyone’s head spin. Meanwhile, if you fancy a trip to Paris tomorrow, you can snag a seat for just ₹28,000, or even ₹21,000 if you wait until November 7. It seems the airlines are taking full advantage of the Chhath rush, and travelers are left to pay the price.

But it’s not just flights; even premium train tickets for Chhath are no bargain. While the Indian Railways has rolled out special trains to accommodate the throngs of celebrants, tickets are selling like hot samosas, leaving many passengers stranded or even sleeping at the station.

To put things in perspective, if you’re planning to fly to Dubai from Delhi today, you could do so for around ₹16,000, and even less tomorrow—less than half of what you’d pay to get to Patna!

As families prepare for the four-day Chhath festivities—starting with Nahai-Khai today, followed by Kharna tomorrow, and the Arghya offerings to the setting and rising sun on November 7 and 8—it’s clear that while the spirit of the festival is shining bright, the ticket prices are casting a long shadow.
