Former Atlas Cycles Chairman Salil Kapoor Dies by Suicide in Delhi, Leaves Note Alleging Harassment

Salil Kapoor, the former chairman of Atlas Cycles, was found dead at his residence on APJ Abdul Kalam Marg in Delhi, allegedly after shooting himself. Authorities discovered a suicide note at the scene, in which Kapoor accused several individuals of harassment.

According to officials, Delhi Police received information about Kapoor's death at approximately 2:30 PM on Tuesday. Upon arriving at his residence, they found the 70-year-old businessman dead from a gunshot wound, reportedly inflicted with his service revolver. The incident took place in a temple located within his home, where Kapoor is believed to have taken his own life.

The suicide note recovered by the police pointed to financial difficulties as a possible motive. Kapoor was reportedly facing significant financial distress, having borrowed money from various sources, and was under considerable debt. Additionally, Kapoor had divorced his wife, and his children were living separately.

Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the matter, with the suicide note's allegations of harassment forming a critical part of their inquiry. A team of officers is currently at the scene, gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses to establish the full circumstances leading to Kapoor's tragic death.
