Former BJP MLA Beaten Up by Workers in Ujjain, Saved by Minister

In a disturbing incident in Mahidpur, Ujjain, BJP workers physically assaulted their former colleague, Bahadur Singh Chauhan, following a disagreement over his uninvited participation in a welcome ceremony.

A shocking incident happened in the Mahidpur assembly constituency of Ujjain where former MLA Bahadur Singh Chauhan, a BJP worker, was beaten up at an event on Friday. He was beaten up after not being invited to the welcome ceremony that BJP leader Pratap Singh Arya had organized. This occurred after the inauguration of the primary health center in Narayna and when the team was headed towards Mahidpur.

The situation took a turn for the worse when Chauhan, who had left the stage, was attacked by BJP workers. The assault was caught on video and has since gone viral on social media. Police intervened with minimal force to separate the two groups: Chauhan's supporters and Arya's followers.

In a rare move, the minister in charge Gautam Tetwal stepped down from the stage to intervene and calm the situation, while MP Anil Firozia also took charge of disciplining the workers. Tensions between Chauhan and Arya had been brewing for some time as both are political rivals in the region. A case has since been registered by the police related to the assault.
