On September 25, they placed an iron piece on the tracks, causing the Okha-Bhavnagar Passenger Train (19210) to stop abruptly, sparking fears of a deliberate sabotage attempt.

Motive Behind the Plot

Police investigations revealed that the accused, Jayesh alias Jalo Nagar Bavaliya and Ramesh Kanji Saliya, conspired to derail the train in an attempt to loot it. Struggling with financial difficulties, they hatched the plan after watching YouTube tutorials on how to derail a train. Their goal was to cause the train to derail, allowing them to rob the passengers.

Arrest and Investigation

Both suspects were arrested by Botad police, who confirmed that the incident was motivated by their poor financial conditions. The case drew attention from local authorities and central agencies, including the Railway Protection Force and ATS, given the potential severity of the crime. Fortunately, no major damage or injuries occurred, and the plot was thwarted before it could escalate.
