Hidden Cameras in Gudlavalleru Engineering College Girls Hostel Spark Massive Protests; Student Arrested
Andhra Pradesh: Massive protests broke out at a private Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Gudivada, Krishna district, late on Thursday night after students discovered hidden cameras installed in the girls' hostel on campus. The discovery led to an uproar as outraged students demanded justice, suspecting that a fourth-year student was behind the crime.
According to sources, the accused student, identified as Vijay, allegedly installed the cameras with the help of another student and sold the footage to boys. The police have arrested Vijay and seized his phone and laptop for further investigation.
The situation on campus became increasingly tense as the night progressed, with students chanting slogans demanding justice. The protests continued until early Friday morning, with the police finally managing to disperse the crowd at around 3:30 AM.
"I have ordered an inquiry into the hidden cameras allegations. Stringent action will be taken against the culprits and those responsible. I have directed officials to ensure that such incidents do not recur in colleges," Lokesh stated in his post on X.
