The long-awaited transfer of Ghaziabad's Indirapuram area to the Municipal Corporation has finally been completed, marking the end of decades of anticipation. A significant meeting, chaired by Meerut Commissioner Selva Kumari J, took place on Friday, during which the proposal was approved. In the presence of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Vice Chairman Atul Vats and Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik, the transfer agreement was signed, confirming this historic decision.

The Indirapuram area will be handed over to the Municipal Corporation for a sum of ₹185 crore. Along with this, an 8,500 square meter plot for solid waste management, advertising rights, and the GDA's zonal office will also be transferred to the Municipal Corporation. Furthermore, any pending property dues on GDA will now fall under the responsibility of the Municipal Corporation.

During the meeting, Meerut Divisional Commissioner Selva Kumari J termed the transfer as a crucial step that will propel Indirapuram’s development and management to a new level. The GDA’s decision to hand over the area was also acknowledged as a vital move to improve local governance and facilities.

This transfer is expected to provide better civic services to the residents of Indirapuram and accelerate the overall development of the area. The move will benefit millions of residents, ensuring improved infrastructure, sanitation, and other essential services.
