Jaipur Flood: Dam Break Causes Cemetery Flooding, Bodies Emerge and Float Away, Watch VIDEO
A major disaster struck Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, as the Noor Dam broke, leading to a catastrophic flood that has submerged several areas, including Khonagorian. The situation has become so dire that residents are unable to leave their homes. Among the worst-hit areas is a cemetery in Khonagorian, where the floodwaters caused graves to be disturbed, leading to bodies being dislodged and floating in the water. Local residents, with great difficulty, managed to collect the bodies and secure them in one place. Police have also been deployed near the dam to monitor the situation and control the water flow.
The disaster occurred late Sunday night after heavy rainfall caused the wall of the Noor Dam, located in the Khonagorian area, to collapse. The dam's breach resulted in severe waterlogging throughout the area, turning the situation chaotic by Monday morning around 9:30 AM. Entire neighborhoods have been inundated, trapping people inside their homes as the water levels rose rapidly.
Cemetery Flooded, Bodies Dislodged from Graves
One of the most alarming incidents occurred at a cemetery located near the dam, where the sudden influx of water caused significant damage. The floodwaters filled the graves, leading to some bodies being dislodged and floating in the water. Shocked by the sight, local residents rushed to the scene and managed to retrieve five bodies, which were then moved to a safer location.
The authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and rescue operations are underway to assist those affected by the floods. The city is on high alert, and efforts are being made to prevent further damage as the authorities work to bring the situation under control.
