Kumbh Mela 2025: The new year is setting off with a strong fervor for one of the largest festivals in Hinduism-Kumbh Mela. Millions of devotees across India and the world would make their way to Prayagraj, city of Triveni Sangam in 2025. Reports say around 40 crore people are expected to visit Prayagraj by train, road, and flights. As a response to the large number of pilgrims visiting, Indian Railways has devised a plan to send the devotees, with one of the most special train numbers.

1,225 Special Trains for Devotees

Railway officials have confirmed that besides the 140 regular trains, Indian Railways will run a total of 1,225 special trains for the Kumbh Mela. These will be especially focused on the six major bathing days, where pilgrims will have an easier journey to the holy site.

Apart from this, most devotees going to Prayagraj plan a trip to another religious centre Ayodhya, Varanasi, amongst others. Therefore, it will conduct MEMU Special Trains for passengers from many important stations which include but not limit to Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Varanasi and Rambagh in order that pilgrims will have the luxury of visiting other religious stations as well.
