Love Jihad in Kanpur: Marriage by Hiding Religion, Case Filed

Shocks coming from Babupurwa police station area, Kanpur: A girl aged 15 years is a victim of abduction by this accused, who abducted, forced her to convert the faith, and married that girl. The accused is reportedly accused of raping the said victim after befriending him. The police had managed to rescue the minor victim girl and recorded her statement too, which has led some shocking facts.

Love Jihad in Kanpur: Minor Girl Abducted, and Forcibly Married

Initially, the police had framed a case of kidnapping against Rajkumar but added sections related to rape and the POCSO Act later. The father of the minor girl, who lived in one of the localities at Babupurwa locality, complained that his class 12 minor daughter has gone missing since October 14, when she returned home from school. In this incident, on the complaint of her father, police lodged a case against Nihal Khan, one of the local residents. The police later arrested the accused and rescued the minor from another district.

Fake Identity and Friendship: Nihal Khan admitted before the interrogators that he had befriended the minor girl under a false name, Nishant. The victim's family had earlier informed the police that Nihal Khan, a resident of the same locality, had been harassing their daughter and trying to lure her. On October 14, he had called the girl to meet him and then forcibly took her away.
Forced Conversion and Marriage: The concerned family searched for their daughter but when she was not found, they lodged a complaint of her kidnapping in the nearest police station and suspected Nihal Khan. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested the accused and rescued the girl. In the interrogation, Nihal Khan confessed to forcibly converting the girl into Islam and marrying her.
