Maharashtra's acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's health suffered an unexpected setback, where a medical team was dispatched to his residence in Satara to check him up. Apparently, he had been undergoing fever, cold, and throat infection. The doctors were administering saline treatment. Ever since yesterday, Shinde's condition had been worsening, but medical attention has now started, and the doctors think that he would recover within two days.
Eknath Shinde's Satara Visit After Meeting Amit Shah
Shinde is in his native village Satara after visiting Delhi, where he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on November 28. The meeting was held to discuss the power-sharing agreement in Maharashtra. After meeting Shah, Shinde returned to Satara the next day. During his visit to Delhi, he met BJP President JP Nadda, besides key political figures like Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, discussing state governance. He told the media that he would not act as an obstruction to the formation of the government, showing support for the decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. His utterances paved the way for the BJP's candidate to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Major Victory for Mahayuti Alliance
The recent Maharashtra assembly elections, which took place on November 20, have resulted in a resounding victory for the Mahayuti alliance. The BJP has emerged victorious with 132 seats, followed by Shiv Sena with 57 seats and Ajit Pawar's faction, which has won 41 seats. On the other hand, the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena (Uddhav), faced a significant setback as it won only 46 seats. The results indicate a drastic change in the political scenario of Maharashtra, which further strengthens the position of BJP in the state.
