Maharashtra Set for CM Inauguration on December 5, Venue and Date Finalized

Maharashtra CM Name: The date and venue for Maharashtra's new Chief Minister’s inauguration have been confirmed. The event will take place at Azad Maidan, Mumbai, on December 5, 2024. BJP state president Chadrasekhar Bawankule is overseeing the arrangements.
 

Maharashtra CM Name: Maharashtra is ready for its historic CM inauguration on December 5, as the grand ceremony is going to take place at the iconic Azad Maidan in Mumbai. The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by the new Chief Minister along with all the ministers, though the count of the number of cabinet ministers who are to take the oath along with the CM remains unknown so far.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, sources confirmed, has initiated preparations for the ceremony with State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule actively overseeing the process. He is responsible for informing the elected legislators about the swearing-in ceremony.

A legislative party meeting will take place on December 2 or 3 in Mumbai where the leader of the legislature party will be chosen. For this purpose, the BJP will send a central observer and after the meeting, the official claim for the government formation will be made. The final announcement regarding the date of the oath-taking ceremony will also follow shortly.

Looking back, the last few CM swearing-in ceremonies were held in iconic venues. In 2014, Devendra Fadnavis took his oath at Wankhede Stadium in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and completed his full term of five years. In 2019, Fadnavis again took the oath but this time at the Raj Bhavan, amidst political turmoil.

With his becoming Chief Minister, the person would choose Shivaji Park to take oath, as Shivaji Park is a location most sacrosanct to Shiv Sena, since it marks the final rites of Balasaheb Thackeray.

The Mahayuti alliance has emerged victorious in 230 of Maharashtra's 288 assembly seats. The BJP won 132 seats, becoming the largest party in the state, while Shinde's faction secured 57 seats, and Ajit Pawar's party garnered 41 seats.
