Maharashtra & Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024: Campaigning On The Last Day Before Voting

As the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 are approaching, political parties have gone all out with their campaigns as the last day of campaigning in these two crucial state elections starts today. The battle for the electoral votes has hotted up in both states as Election Day is just knocking on the door.

Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections will formally end campaigning on November 18, 2024, before voting takes place on November 20, 2024. Both states would vote for their legislative assemblies with huge stakes and fierce competition between the main political players.

In Jharkhand, too, political tensions have reached a boil with allegations of "misleading and malicious" content being shared on social media. The Election Commission of India took quick action against the Jharkhand BJP for a controversial video that allegedly infringed upon model code conduct. The commission ordered to delete the video and sought explanation from the state BJP over the issue. These incidents have only added drama to this year's assembly elections, which both political fronts and the general public have kept a close eye on.

Voting for the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is on November 20, and all state political parties make their last push to grab as many seats as possible. Meanwhile, voting in the first phase of Jharkhand was over on November 13, while the second phase of polling was to take place on November 20, 2024.

These elections would be a do-or-die battle for both the states, considering that the outcome of these elections will have a decisive say on the political scenario in India. The results will be declared on November 23, 2024.
