Lucknow Protests Erupt Among Shia Community Following Hassan Nasrallah's Death

In Lucknow, the Shia community expressed their outrage following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Thousands gathered to participate in a candlelight march spanning nearly one kilometer, during which demonstrators vocally protested against Israel and the United States. The march, which commenced from the Small Imambara and proceeded to the Big Imambara, saw women and children carrying candles and placards in mourning.

The protestors displayed deep grief and anger, evident in their chants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose posters were burned during the demonstration. Many members of the Shia community, displaying their sorrow, adorned their homes and religious buildings with black flags in memory of Nasrallah. Participants held pictures of Nasrallah while shouting slogans in his honor, emphasizing his significance as a strong leader and guide for the Shia community.

Zaydi, a participant in the march, articulated the community's sentiments, describing the day as a "Black Day" for them. He stated, "We have gathered to pay tribute to Nasrallah and to protest against Israel." Protesters accused Israel of shedding innocent blood and highlighted Nasrallah’s role in safeguarding the shrine of Hazrat Zainab, the daughter of Imam Ali, during the ISIS attacks. They commended his consistent support for the Palestinian cause and condemned Israel for its military aggression.

A Call for Solidarity Among Muslim Nations

Members of the Husseini Tiger group expressed their intention to mourn Nasrallah's death for three days. They stated, "Today, we take to the streets to protest against Israel, which attacks those who aid the victims." Demonstrators called for solidarity among the 56 Muslim nations, urging them to unite and raise their voices against injustice.

Participants pledged to display black flags on the rooftops of their homes as a tribute during the three-day mourning period. Their demands included an immediate cessation of Israel’s aggression against the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
