Meerut Groom Goes 'James Bond' Over Stolen ₹100 Note

Inside the video, the groom can be seen grabbing on to the door of a mini-truck moving locally known as "Chhota Haathi", hence did not let go of it even when the vehicle was stopped. Upon stopping the truck, the groom came out and vented on the driver after kicking him, seemingly incensed by what had just happened. The crowd soon followed and commenced questioning the driver, said to be supposed to be responsible for the alleged attempted theft.

According to reports, the incident began when a man snatched a ₹100 note from the garland of the groom during the wedding procession. When that man managed to get into the truck and flee, the excited groom chased the vehicle, even holding onto it as the truck moved. His daring feat made the driver halt the truck, leading to the shocking video seen later.

In turn, the viral clip drew a range of reactions from social media users, with some appreciating the groom's courage: "Desi James Bond." Others made light-hearted jibes over his stunt, assuring him to let go of the thief in line with the wedding celebrations. Others joked about the groom's rather surprising commando-like skills where one wondered, "Where did he get this training from?"

The police have confirmed that the matter has been reported, and the Paratapur Police Station has been directed to investigate the incident. While the cause behind the conflict remains unknown, surely the groom's bold actions have made his wedding unforgettable for all the wrong—or perhaps right—reasons.
