Meerut: On the inaugural day of the Vande Bharat Express from Meerut to Lucknow, a disturbing incident of harassment was reported. A girl was allegedly harassed, and her brother was slapped by a group of passengers claiming to be BJP workers. The incident led to a significant uproar on the train, and it was only after the intervention of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) that the situation was brought under control.

The Incident

According to the victim, the incident occurred shortly after the train departed. She recounted the incident to the media, saying, "I was heading to get some food and drinks from another cabin when an elderly man told me, 'This is a BJP cabin, you cannot pass through here. We are BJP workers.'"

In response, the girl informed them that she and her brother were from Delhi and affiliated with the BJP, running a YouTube channel for Skill India. However, the situation quickly escalated, with the BJP workers allegedly pushing her and slapping her brother.

Her brother expressed frustration, stating, "The police on the train took the side of the BJP leaders. My sister was harassed, and despite our protests, no action was taken against them." The RPF staff tried to mediate and calm the situation, while senior railway officials on board monitored the situation. It is reported that the RPF might file an FIR regarding the incident.

Comments and Escalation

Preliminary investigations suggest that several YouTube influencers, including Divyansh and Tanya, had been invited by the railway authorities to document the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express. While filming in one of the train's coaches, they encountered a group of BJP workers.

One of the BJP workers allegedly made a derogatory comment toward the girl, saying, "How many videos will you make?" Her brother objected, stating that they had been invited specifically for video coverage. This confrontation led to one of the BJP workers slapping the girl's brother, further escalating the situation.

The incident has sparked outrage, especially since it occurred on the very first day of the train's operation. The RPF's response and the potential filing of an FIR will be closely watched as the investigation continues.
