Modi Government Announces RRTS Networks Connecting Delhi to Panipat, Alwar
The Modi government has announced the expansion of the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) networks, connecting Delhi to Panipat and the Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror and Alwar corridor. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal revealed that these projects are expected to be operational by next year, with the formalities set to be completed within a month.
During his visit to the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, marking one year of Namo Bharat’s operations, Manohar Lal highlighted the success of the RRTS network, which has served over 40 lakh passengers since its launch. The minister also visited the Anand Vihar RRTS Station, a key hub in the network due to its integration with metro lines, railway stations, and inter-state bus terminals.
The RRTS projects in Panipat and Rajasthan are part of the government's vision to revolutionize travel in the region. Once completed, these networks will provide faster connectivity between Delhi and neighboring regions, significantly reducing travel time.
With advanced technology developed under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, the RRTS network is set to enhance commuter experience. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, once fully operational by June 2025, will allow passengers to travel from Delhi to Meerut in under an hour.
