NTA Announces Re-Schedule for UGC NET June 2024 Exams
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the revised schedule for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2024 for the June session. Candidates can now check the updated schedule on the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The re-conducted UGC NET June 2024 exam will take place between August 21 and September 4 in a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Exam Centre Notification
The notification regarding the exam centre city will be made available on the NTA websites, ugcnet.nta.ac.in and nta.ac.in, 10 days before the exam date.
Previous Exam Details
Initially, the UGC NET June 2024 exam was conducted on June 18 in a pen-and-paper format and was held in two shifts. The first shift took place from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the second shift was from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Reason for Rescheduling
The exam was allegedly canceled a day after its initial conduction due to paper leakage allegations. This incident affected the exam which was conducted across 317 cities in India, involving over 900,000 candidates.
Purpose of UGC NET
UGC NET is conducted twice annually to qualify candidates for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as assistant professors, and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges.
