Opposition Leader Ashoka Hails Governor's Win in MUDA Site Return Decision
Bangalore, October 1 – Opposition leader R. Ashoka praised Karnataka Governor’s decision as a major victory for the Constitution and the judiciary, following Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, returning the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site she had received. Ashoka welcomed this move, calling it a victory for constitutional principles.
The controversy surrounding MUDA sites had intensified, putting pressure on CM Siddaramaiah. In response, his wife decided to return the site on Monday. Taking to social media platform X, Ashoka commented that this decision is a significant win for those defending the Constitution, including the Governor, who took a bold stand in protecting its values.
“This is a great victory for the Constitution that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar gave us and a win for the judiciary, which upheld the Governor’s decision. Those who once proudly displayed their power now face the consequences of constitutional justice,” Ashoka stated.
In his earlier comments, Ashoka expressed satisfaction that Siddaramaiah had finally recognized his mistake. “It’s like realizing the error after the damage is done. The respect lost cannot be regained, even with an elephant’s gift,” he remarked, demanding that the CM face investigation and resign.
Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi, formally wrote to the MUDA authority on Monday, announcing her decision to return the site, triggering responses from BJP leaders, including Ashoka.
